Far’n’Beyond is proud to continue our support the Packaging Professionals Degree students at Sheffield Hallam University as event sponsors for the ‘Packaging the Future: From Linear to Circular’ public exhibition.

The final year students have once again been challenged to think about products and packaging that often end up in landfill, and inventing solutions on how to create a more sustainable and circular solution that help benefit the environment.
For the exhibition, the students designed themselves a presentation board, showcasing their talents and skills they’ve learned throughout their workplaces and on the course itself.

Whilst the students tackled the design, Far’n’Beyond supported the students with the printing and various other elements of the showcase.
With the topic of the event being circularity, the display boards were created from sustainable and 100% recyclable cardboard display material, which can go through standard paper/card recycling channels.

Alongside their presentations and studies, Far’n’Beyond also challenged the students to a creative design challenge.

The project encouraged the students to visually present their presentations using different display methods, with the winning display being award the ‘Far’n’Beyond 2025 Creative Design Award’ trophy and a certificate for their achievement.
This year, we were pleased to award Tim, Joe & Ashley with the 2025 trophy. Well done to all the students involved. Their presentation and exhibition highlighted the importance of circularity of HelloFresh boxes, whilst visually showcasing their project on their exhibition stand.

Their artwork was clear, concise and flowed exceptionally well, showing three options of a short term fix of applying OPRL (On Pack Recycling Labels) to recipe cards, whilst a long term solution would be to change the outer packing to a correx material, utilising the material properties for recyclability.
“Coming back to Sheffield Hallam after finishing the course to help support the emerging packaging talent for other cohorts has really shown the creative output and the effort the students have put into their work.
The entire cohort should be proud of everything they’ve presented.”
Sam Wood, Creative Design & Packaging

As we look ahead to the future of packaging innovation and design, it’s inspiring to see solutions and alternatives put forward to help reduce our impact on the environment by switching from a linear approach to a much more sustainable circular one.
