One of the highlights of the Far’n’Beyond calendar is our annual Summer BBQ, where we get to take a well-earned break to enjoy an afternoon of fabulous food, great company and plenty of friendly competition, all made possible by the brilliant team at WorkWell.
The Summer BBQ has become a great opportunity to spend time together away from our usual day-to-day projects, celebrate everything we’ve achieved as a team and, most importantly, have some fun with the people we spend our working week alongside.
With the Yorkshire sunshine making a very welcome appearance, the afternoon quickly became considerably more competitive than perhaps anyone intended.
There were some impressive performances on the crazy golf course, a few questionable play on the football pitch and plenty of attempts to stay on the bucking bronco, whilst Penny and Simon took the opportunity to knock Adam off his perch in a ‘Gladiators’ inspired combat.
Elsewhere, Penny, Kate, Nathan and Christine tested their aim with the archery, while clay pigeon shooting provided another opportunity for Leigh to demonstrate the laser focus required in our Digital Team with an almost perfect performance, while Gav, Phillip and Nathan were enthusiastically cheered on by Becky and Nikki.
As you would expect, everyone was taking part purely for fun. Obviously.
In a busy studio with project deadlines, active logistics and a team which is passionate about what we do, it can be difficult to step away and celebrate our successes.
Every project we deliver is a team effort, bringing together our creative, digital, production, sales, accounting and support teams. While our days are usually spent working together to meet deadlines, solve problems, and bring our clients' ideas to life, it's great to take some time socially.
Not everyone could join us this year, with some of the team busy supporting client projects and other commitments, but our annual Summer BBQ remains one of the ways we can recognise our collective successes and enjoy some well-earned time together.
We're incredibly fortunate to have such a talented, fun and dedicated group of people at Far'n'Beyond, and occasions like this are a reminder that the relationships we build as a team are every bit as important as the work we produce together.
