The Environment

Approach

Offering a fully integrated service to our clients provides several benefits to the environment, including a reduction in waste, by ensuring we utilise the most effective and efficient production methods available and then using a single courier network for delivery, avoiding multiple deliveries.

To further ensure that consideration of the environment is integrated throughout the business and its employees, we support the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. This not only enables us to support the national work of the Wildlife Trust, but also enables us to get involved at a local level and actively engage as a team through annual workdays and awareness campaigns.

Forest Stewardship Council

We use FSC accredited paper - which means our clients can be assured that the paper they choose comes from a certified forest that's managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations.

The FSC label guarantees that the trees that are harvested and replaced or allowed to regenerate naturally. Parts of the forest are protected entirely, in order to protect rare animals and plants.

Inks

All our print is produced using vegetable based inks - these oils can be made from a variety of vegetables such as corn, walnut, coconut, linseed, canola and soy-beans, which are all renewable resources.

In addition, once the jobs are printed, the printing presses can be cleaned using a water based cleaner as opposed to ones which are high in solvents, vegetable inks are easier to de-ink, assisting in the overall recycling process.

Recycling & Waste

All of our paper waste is recycled and we have strived to reduce the inevitable waste involved in producing our products and services. We are continuously looking at ways to reduce this further.

In our studio, we operate a paperless order management system and our large recycling bins allow us to reduce as much waste as possible.

Environmental Policy

Far’n’Beyond Ltd is committed to meeting the needs of its clients and customers in an environmentally sound manner by seeking to minimise its environmental impact and acting on opportunities to generate environmental benefit.

Far’n’Beyond recognises that its activities, products and services have an effect on the local, regional and global environment. As a consequence of this the management are fully committed to continual improvement in our environmental performance and the prevention of pollution.

In order to demonstrate this commitment and ongoing environmental improvements, far’n’beyond will ensure it consistently complies with all relevant regulations.

In order to ensure so far as practical that our clients are provided with environmentally sound products and services, we will exert our influence on our suppliers to encourage the following:

  • Reduce material and energy consumption, solvent emissions and hazardous waste generation.
  • Handle, transport, store and dispose of potentially environmentally damaging materials within the appropriate legislation and codes of practice.
  • Improve efficiency of all operations to prevent pollution of the environment.
  • Encourage an environmental awareness and responsibility of suppliers and clients through instruction and dissemination of information.
  • Continue to ensure suppliers use FSC or PEFC Chain of Custody materials, to ensure that our products are sourced from sustainable forests.

Far’n’Beyond will maintain a strategy for external environmental communications including making this policy publicly available.
