There's always something special about the opening game of a new season.
This year's opener was even more memorable for the Far’n’Beyond team as we were Match Night Sponsors for the Leeds Knights' first home game of the 2026/27 season against local rivals Hull.
With a packed Castle, the unveiling of last season's Play-Off Championship banner and an incredible atmosphere created by the fans, it was another reminder of why Leeds Knights have become such an important part of the Yorkshire sporting community.
It was also great to see our printed cardboard megaphones in use for the second season.
A product we developed for our Really Good Branding merchandise brand, the recyclable promotional tool, continues to gain popularity for clients running sporting events.
We also enjoyed our first Chuck-A-Puck of the season, until one of our team enthusiastically launched theirs in the hope of winning, only to fling their wedding ring into the crowd.
A big thank you to everyone who helped search for the ring, reunite it with its owner… and possibly save a marriage! 🙂
It's fair to say that not every Chuck-a-Puck comes with quite so much excitement.
As Match Night Sponsors, we also had the privilege of stepping onto the ice after the game to present the Man of the Match awards to both teams.
The opening Yorkshire derby was a competitive encounter in front of a sell-out crowd.
Hull took a two-goal lead during the opening period through Beau Reader and Johnny Corneil, before the Knights battled back in the third period with a power-play goal from Edgars Vengis, assisted by Cullen McLean. Despite a late push for an equaliser, Hull held on to claim a 2–1 victory.
Congratulations to Jonas Bennett, who was deservedly named the Leeds Knights Man of the Match after another determined performance, while Hull's award recognised an impressive display from the visitors.
As Far'n'Beyond continues to grow and evolve, it is great to connect with colleagues and partners at events like these and celebrate how our relationship with Leeds Knights continues to develop.
