Woodlands

Yorkshire Woodland Management Event

The creative team at Far’n’Beyond enjoyed a day out with the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust helping care for the woodlands at Water Haigh Woodland Park in Leeds.

Our task was to help create greater diversity of structure to the woodland, which encourages more wildlife to the site. Just on the edge of the Leeds to Manchester canal, we used hand tools such as loppers, small hand saws and Jonny took charge of the bow saws!

We were looked after by Lizzie and Kara who provided a great insight into the work YWT are doing in the area, alongside incredible coffee and cheese jokes.

There were no significant injuries, although there are still a lot of aches and pains. Much more rewarding and exhausting than the gym, a great day was enjoyed by us all.
