We don't usually get to surprise the boss, but we were delighted that Adam was a finalist at the SY Apprenticeship Awards held at Sheffield United Football Stadium.
Secretly nominated by Sam (a finalist for Apprentice of the Year last year) it was an opportunity to show his appreciation for Adam's support, which was made all the more satisfying when it was announced he was a finalist.

The SY Apprenticeship Awards celebrate outstanding achievements across various categories, recognising individuals and organisations contributing to the thriving apprenticeship landscape.
The event was presented by Leeds Knights host Rich Williams, with awards for organisations and individuals across various industries and sectors.
Following an opportunity to connect with other nominees and guests, we enjoyed a fabulous meal and entertainment as we prepared for the awards.
"It was a complete surprise to find out I had been nominated for the award, let alone making it as a finalist.
I aim to foster a welcoming environment at Far'n'Beyond, where individuals have the space to thrive and develop as professionals. The rest is down to the hard work and dedication of the team, who support each other and enable us to continue to grow and develop.

Building the nerves, The Mentor of the Year category was the penultimate award of the evening and deservedly won by Rhian Burrows from Unilever.

Although Adam didn't win the award, it was lovely to socialise with several of the key people from Sheffield Hallam University who have made Sam's apprenticeship journey so enjoyable and rewarding over the last few years.
