We have worked with Steve and The Fitness Rooms at The White Hart at for several years, and it has been a great pleasure to support him throughout the numerous charity challenges Steve has completed and the limits he has pushed through to raise money for Help for Heroes.
When Steve turned 30, he launched the Run For 30 Campaign which has led him to complete five marathons, five triathlons and four 10k runs in the list of 25 events across the UK, in Paris, Berlin and an Iron Man in Sweden.
Earning his green beret as a Troop Commander during his six years service in the Royal Marines, Steve saw first hand the impact on mental health experienced by his soldiers alongside physical injuries within the wider armed forces family.
Following his service, Steve wanted to give something back to ensure ex and serving men and women can receive the support and necessary care when it is needed.
The Run for 30 campaign was the perfect fit and with a fundraising target of £30,000, whilst also running his business and funding travel, accommodation and entrance fees himself... the challenge was on!
Corporate Sponsorship
When we heard about the campaign, we were keen to donate our services and also help raise awareness for the challenges ahead.
"Having worked with Steve for several years, we were pleased to be able to offer our support. His dedication to the cause and commitment has been incredible to watch.
Following his progress and watching Steve get closer to his target has been a pleasure. It also reminds us of the sacrifices made by our armed services and the vital support offered by the Help for Heroes charity.
Help for Heroes supports those with injuries and illnesses attributable to their service in the British Armed Forces. No matter when they served, the charity believes that those prepared to put their lives second, deserve a second chance at life.
Every course and activity organised by Help for Heroes aims to empower these service members to look beyond illness and injury, regain their purpose, reach their potential and have a positive impact on society.
Steve has been a fantastic ambassador for the charity highlighting the need for support for our British Armed Forces, whilst also completing an incredible challenge of his own to raise money for the charities valuable work.
Black Tie Charity Ball
The finale of his incredible year-long challenge is something completely different. To complete the Run for 30 campaign, Steve has organised a black-tie ball at the beautiful Rudding Park Hotel in Harrogate.
A night of live entertainment, celebration and fundraising with a silent auction, opportunity to meet staff and beneficiaries from Help for Heroes northern Recovery Centre in Catterick Garrison, plus the chance to win a 0.5ct brilliant cut diamond worth around £2,500 is the perfect end to a hugely impressive fundraising expedition.
