We have worked with Picturehouse Cinemas for several years following an initial Christmas Cracker Retail campaign to the production of bespoke gift vouchers, gift boxes, and counter display systems.
Picturehouse Cinemas is a network of boutique cinemas in the UK known for its unique venues, diverse programming and commitment to delivering an exceptional filmgoing experience.
Combining mainstream blockbusters, independent films and special screenings, they aim to be cultural hubs that celebrate the art of cinema.
The Picturehouse team contacted Far'n'Beyond to update the packaging and presentation of their gift vouchers with a fully recyclable solution, and one point of contact to manage the whole process.
From initial discussions, we first looked at the gift vouchers, which required the addition of a unique reference number and matching QR code, which is different on every voucher.
The provided codes were implemented into the artwork, which featured QR codes generated by our creative team, seamlessly integrating with the website and till systems at Picturehouse Cinemas.
As they each have a cash value, we have several controls in place to manage these and avoid duplication in the production process.
The gift vouchers are then inserted into custom printed envelopes, which are specially manufactured so that they are fully printed all over and finished to the size of the gift vouchers.
Each envelope is then placed in a cardboard box, which has been developed to enhance the gift experience by using a 'buffer wall', with a lowered space to present the envelopes as the box opens.

The presentation boxes are then fully printed inside and outside in the Picturehouse brand colours to bring the package together.
Our hand-finishing team then set to work on compiling the printed envelopes and custom vouchers into packs for inserting into the gift boxes.
To showcase the gift boxes, we also developed custom presentation stands to sit on the cinema counters, raising customer's awareness of the vouchers.
As with each project stage, our team worked with Picturehouse to develop keylines and samples of the box and counter display units (CDU), which make the best use of the available space and offer a sizeable visible branding area.
The cardboard CDUs are supplied flat for easy transportation and storage, so they were developed to ensure they are straightforward to put together and, as with all aspects of the print, are 100% recyclable after use.
