Olly's are a leading brand in Olive, Pretzel Thins and Choco Pretzel Thins, innovative snack creations that deliver health at the heart & flavour to the full. As demand for their products continues to increase, the mix of printed literature and display materials increases.
Having worked on several projects with Olly's we were delighted to be asked if we could assist with the design, manufacture and distribution of custom cardboard display units to present their pretzel thins across a popular cinema chain.
The first phase of developing a cardboard product display unit is establishing the size and weight of the items to be displayed, how they are usually shipped (eg, a box of 12) and any restrictions the retailer may have.
Using samples supplied by Olly's, we quickly determined the most efficient shelf height for the large bags of pretzel thins and made design choices for how to best display them.
Compared to rigid products or boxed items, bagged snacks don't naturally tend to stand up uniformly, so we also added a slant to each display level to help them lean back.
Following testing of the system, our team then developed the structural design to enable the FSDU to be supplied flat and easily built by cinema employees, which was then given to Olly's for their designers to apply the highly effective brand.
With the artwork supplied, checked, and approved final sign off, we began producing the cardboard product shelves.
Each unit is printed in full colour directly onto a rigid corrugated white cardboard before being creased and cut to shape.
Planned and set up to minimise any waste during production, these 100% recyclable displays are of great value and a better alternative for the environment than plastic and PVC display boards.
Each Free Standing Display Unit was then checked and packed securely, with build instructions for the recipients, before being shipped.
