The team will took time out to visit some of our clients and suppliers throughout the day and encouraged our friends and family to get involved.
The main event, was our Welly Wanging Competition, where we saw who can fling their wellies the furthest… without breaking anything!
“We will be wearing our wellies for wildlife to raise awareness and encourage support for the important wetland conservation work undertaken by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.
“I fear my team will be pushing me to ‘fill my jelly boots’ whilst we visit a few of our local clients for a welly wanging competition!”
Adam Moody. Managing Director.
Funds raised from ‘Wear Your Wellies for Wildlife’ in North and East Yorkshire will be used to help fund the Trust’s work to create new wetland habitats along the River Hull, restore habitats along the Humber Estuary and to create new floodplain habitats along the River Ouse and Derwent.
Lizzie Dealey, Fundraising Officer for Yorkshire Wildlife Trust said:
“Wetlands really are top habitats – not only do they provide a home for a large proportion of our native wildlife, their excellent ability to store water can prevent destruction caused by flooding. I hope that people will feel inspired to help this worthy cause and join us in pulling up their wellies!”.
