We were delighted to work in collaboration with Ponderosa Agency to manufacture and install bespoke interactive signage for Leeds Bradford Airport.
Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) transports millions of passengers each year to international destinations and continues to develop as the first choice for travellers within the region.
The 'Ey Up World' campaign has already attracted attention across various media platforms, whilst the permanent signage has gained interaction and engagement from visitors as they pass through the airport.

The brief was to produce interactive signage that encourages customers to take pictures and post them on social media platforms using #EyUpWorld.
With the concept artwork from Ponderosa Agency, we first visited the airport for an initial survey and to discuss the project.
Ensuring each team member had the appropriate level of security clearance and permissions for the equipment that would be needed on the departure side of the terminal required a lot of planning and preparation.
A site survey is paramount to establishing what can be achieved within a given space, understanding access or installation limitations that need to be considered, and ensuring all dimensions can be channelled back to the design teams accurately before the manufacturing stage.
In addition to the technical specification, visiting a site is also an excellent way for our creative teams to understand the context of the branding and discuss ideas and key elements to be communicated.
Following a successful visit and the final concepts agreed upon between Ponderosa, LBA, and Far'n'Beyond, we developed several solutions suitable for the existing wooden wall located just after security and check-in.

A key component to the signage's success was ensuring the illuminated lettering flowed seamlessly across the curved slatted wall.
This was addressed with detailed measurements for each lettering locator, which the creative team could use to position each element to achieve a unique uniform formation.
Once the design was finalised and the materials selected, we could create the signage - machine cutting, shaping, and assembling the materials off-site into the final display.
Each section of the signage was manufactured from different materials. The illuminated 'Ey Up' and 'World' text, made from 30mm Opal Acrylic, is a pivotal section of the display.
Thematic presets for the lighting provide remote colour control to draw attention to the branded selfie wall. Great attention was also paid to ensuring that low-voltage wiring and power supplies were hidden.
The remaining hashtag text is manufactured from thick machine-cut PVC before being applied to the wall with standoffs to add depth to the display.

Once the components were finished and tested, we were back on site with our experienced specialist installers to complete the installation.
Signage Installation is a meticulous process that requires creativity, technical know-how, strategic planning, and a lot of patience, but can make a significant difference to your customers experience.
"Working with Ponderosa and Leeds Bradford Airport on the project has been a pleasure. We are delighted with the finished display and look forward to continuing to develop more exciting signage projects together."
