New Square is a popular shopping and leisure destination in the heart of West Bromwich. The venue hosts 30 retail brands, a great selection of cafés and restaurants and a state-of-the-art, five screen ODEON Cinema.
Working alongside the creative team at Trumpet PR, Far'n'Beyond developed design files provided by the agency, into a customer focussed, Search Engine Friendly and easy to manage website.
Incorporated into the website were several key features designed to allow easy ongoing management and retain a clear customer journey as the website grows and develops. We also looked at objectives of the tenants and New Square to increase footfall and promote their offers and events.
Bringing together a package that achieved the goals of all the stakeholders, whilst retaining a streamlined customer experience was key to the success of this project.
Since its launch, the website has been positively received by the client and stores. It has also been recognised as one of the key elements that led to the award of 'Best Shopping Experience' for New Square at the 'Birmingham Awards'.

Another key aspect of the website is the custom-programmed integration with West Bromwich ODEON Cinema Listings. Displaying the films being shown each day, the data is pulled automatically from the ODEON API.
As with all the projects undertaken by Far'n'Beyond we took time to understand the objectives for the website, the target audience and the future direction of the leisure and retail park, which we believe is vital to achieving such positive results.
Developing a website that can be updated with ease, whilst ensuring new content appears in appropriate sections was a key challenge at the outset. Looking beyond the launch of newsquarewb.com, the team brainstormed various solutions to ensure key elements such as offers, stores and news work together, so that visitors would be able to quickly find the information they are looking for.
Looking at the optimisation of performance and search engine ranking, we invested time in on-page Search Engine Optimisation and page speed, as well as a structured site map, giving consideration on how to best manage expiring posts and responsiveness for mobile and tablet users.
